Hope to get them all finished SOON, just noticed it showed in the pics with sheers just stuck up there, whoa, isn't very "royal" looking is it???!!!! ROF LOL!

Eleanor just came in the office and I couldn't wait to show her GP's pictures! She loved them! GP, you and Daphne are girls after El's own heart! She loves to costume and make things fun for everyone. She thoroughly enjoyed your pictures!

Where do you send these stockings?
What a good idea.
I love the crowns and I am sure I need one now, where ever did you get them?
Momma said good things come in small packages, she is prescious, you are so luck.
How sweet, I could do this, if only grand daughter was older that 2 and not in Turkey. Someday I hope!
Keep it up u r making great memories!

Re: GP & Grandmonkey Quilt For Troops
millboroquilt, I'm sure you miss your granddaughter very much. Yes, I am very lucky to have this little girl in my life and I enjoy her every minute I can. She is a blessing. We shopped for the royal boas and tiaras at a French store, Tar'ge (Target)! The jeweled crowns were $5.99. The little one was a bit miffed that her 10 carat earrings did not show up in the pic and she couldn't sew with her high heels on! Not to mention, I forgot to apply her lipstick, too. LOL! I told her that real quilters sew barefoot because you just can't get any speed up when your high heels keep slipping off the foot pedal! After raising two sons, it was a real treat for me to go from Tonka trucks to boas and tiaras.
These "socks" were sent to IowaGal for her son's unit in Irag and the deadline to get them to her is June 10th. If you'd like to make some to be sent to the troops, though, Tiggersmom is doing this with her quilt guild, and my DH is in the process of making arrangements to send some to troops that will be in Iraq for Christmas. We will post info on this for anyone who wants to participate. BTW, boas and tiaras are not required to sew these, but it certainly does add to the experience and I highly recommend it! LOL!
