Hi Julie,

The biggest difference between the 6500 and the 6600 is the accufeed foot which is built into the 6600. I have the 6600 and I really like it, but I never had the 6500 as I have had Vikings mostly until I bought this machine.

BTW, I see you are from Idaho, where are you located. I am south of Nampa.

T-Lynn, I live in American Falls, it's about 30 minutes from Pocatello.

I guess I'll look into the 6600 model then. I think I'll be able to find that easier then the 6500. Thanks:0)

I am a Bernina girl, but I think for the price, Janome makes a great machine. Make sure you buy from a good dealer who will be around when you need them. Geri

I agree wiht all you ladies, Janome is a very good machine, for the money the 6500 memory craft is an excellent machine I use both the the 6500 and 6260 quilter companion.

I have sewn on the new Kenmores and I must say I am very impressed. Kenmores are made by White who makes all the Janomes. The top of the line Kenmore sews like a dream and has all the features of a machine that costs hundreds more. My next piecing machine will be a Kenmore. I've tried them all and the top brands are excellent but for the value, Kenmore is my choice.

What about the Janome 1600 series? I've seen these on E-Bay for $599.00 and wondered if that is a good deal.....

The 1600 series is a straight stitch machine, same throat space as the 6500/6600. Amie
