I have made a couple pieces with the QIAD teacups...I just did stitch in the ditch around each square and left it at that. The batting I use can be left unquilted up to 8-10 inches, I believe, and the pieces didn't need any more detailing.

I am new to machine quilting myself (usually tie them), so I have trouble figuring out where to put quilting lines so it's not messing up the look of the piece!
