Bobbin thread breaking

Post by Woodzygirl » Sat Aug 04, 2018 1:00 pm

Machine quilting (meandering). Using Sulky 40 wt rayon. When I insert the bobbin and pull up the thread and begin to sew, the bobbin won’t move and the bobbin thread breaks. I can even pull more bobbin thread up by hand. Switched bobbins and have the same problem. Every other thread trip works fine. Ideas? Thanks in advance!

Could there be a broken thread hiding in the mechcanism, race? They can be tricky to find.

We had the same problem yesterday. And it was just as Jana said, “a broken thread in the bobbin case”. Also, have you tried adjusting the tension in the bobbin case? Have you tried another type of thread?
