marking pencils

Post by billizzy » Mon Apr 22, 2013 8:17 am

Ok I never used them before, but I wanted a perfect heart on a block and traced my template with my blue marking pencil. Now can someone tell me how to get rid of the marks from the white fabric. I tried cold water--still there. I have 12 hearts to make vanish some not as noticable.

Have you sewn them yet? I think you have from your sentence about some of them not so noticible. Don't allow the quilt to get in the sun and don't iron instead finish the quilt including the binding. There is a product called "Synthrapol". I have found it very effective at removing markngs. Use a couple of "Color Catchers" in the load as well. "Synthrapol" is available at some quilt shops. Just ask.
