FMQ question

Post by karpet » Thu Apr 14, 2011 5:45 am

My Janome manual says that I can use a couple other stitches for FMQ besides a straight stitch. Has anyone ever done this?

I did thread painting one time with the zig zag stitch. You drop the feed dogs so you are doing free motion and then you (well the project we were working on) filled in the tree top with fall type colors and the trunk with a dark brown. It really looks kinda cool. I will have to try free motion quilting with a zig zag and see what it looks like. Probably most stitches, just drop your feed dogs and practice.
