Featherweight

Post by cindyg » Mon Jan 31, 2011 6:38 am

What would be a good price on a featherweight? I'm looking at some that are in good working condition and only have minor scratches or worn decals. They are asking approx. $600. Is this high or reasonable?

check on ebay and see how they are priced - I know I see them on craigslist from $250-$500.

Cindy I paid just under $350 for mine. Great shape and runs like a dream. Included case.

I bought my featherweight from a gentleman in England and with shipping and changing the motor to run here on our voltage I paid $450 for mine and the decals and everything was in top condition - very few scratches - almost none.

Cindy, Bill bought mine for around $400. Also, he has the name of a guy in our area who services just Featherweights for a living. If you want his # and/or e-mail to ask him a fair price, let me know.

I have two and I paid under $350 for each of them. I have very few scratches and the decals are wonderful. I also have a wonderful Man and Wife team that take very good care of mine. He's retired now and is a collector and restorer/repairman and He will paint it any color you want.

OK - $600 is high. Thanks for the info and I will store this for future reference.

watcfh for smell of mildew in the case - use dryer sheets and if some is on outside rub with a dry paper towel. do not use liquids or sprays.
