Free motion with a treadle machine?

For over 30 years I sewed on a 1924 Singer treadle.... wonderful machine. I recently purchased a new Janome treadle that has turned out to be a wonderful machine (it will go in reverse... smile) and I would like to do free motion quilting on it. I am having trouble regulating the stitches. Any suggestions on how I might move forward in improving my technique? Or do I just need to invest in an electric machine? Joyce

Dear Joyce
You should edit your sign in name and take off your email address. You really don't want that on there. just pur your state and town in place of it.

Free Motion quilting on a treadle Machine. Now that is an interesting question but I can't help you with it. I don't free motion quilt even on a very good electric machine. I hope you can find a technique to accomplish it.
