Stippling on machine doesn't glide well of sewing surface

Post by Ljuhles » Fri Jun 05, 2009 3:51 pm

I am just beginning to try stippling. I noticed today, with my new BSR, that my "fabric sandwich" doesn't slide very well. It's like the table top or area the sandwich lays on is "sticky". Is there a product to put down that will help the fabric sandwich glide better?
I didn't notice it with the walking foot.

There is a slippery mat called a Supreme Slider...the description on the package says...The original 100% Teflon Top slides with zero friction. New self sticking bottom. Grips & Easy to remove.

I believe you put the sticky side on your machine and the teflon on the top makes your project slide around easily.

I don't know how well it works. It runs somewhere between $25 and $30.

I use Silicone spray made just for sewing machines and batik fabs. I just spray it on and make sure you don't get it on the floor, lololol. I slipped and cracked my chin on the way to the sewing machine after using it one time. You can buy it at hancocks, Joanne's ot King's Men longarm online shop. Great stuff! Amie :o)
