Grace Frames
I am seriously looking at the Grace Line of frames...opinions please.
Also I need a machine for it I have been looking at a Brother PQ1500, a Juki and a Pfaff I will get whatever one I can get the bet price on since they all seem to have the features I need.
Is a stitch regulator a must?

Re: Grace Frames
hi, sewcarolyn, i have had my grace frame since nov of 05, i started out with my singer on it but as you know there isn't much room to roll the quilt, at first if i was doing a queen i would load quilt and start in the middle and quilt back to the edge, then i would reverse it and do same to the other side. it took awhile but i was really pleased with it. Last yr right after christmas i bought a viking 870 because it had a 10 inch throat and all the rest i wanted . it has sure worked out great. in fact i love the viking so much if i didn't already have to singers that are less then 5 yrs old i would buy another viking to use for all my sewing. and since i 'practiced on twin size quilts for my 5 grandsons i haven't needed a stick regulator, you just need to practice, since i am not one to just practice for the heck of it i made each of the grand kids a couple of quilts, i am not perfect but now everyone seems to like them and wants them. sorry so long winded. but i think it just depends on how much time you want to spend practing. i quilt or work on a top each day. i am retired so my time is my own.

I have a portable B-Line frame with a Juki machine w/stitch regulator. I love the stitch regulator and the Juki works great. I'm selling the set-up because I graduated to an HQ-16. One hint - if you are doing a large quilt and the throat of your machine is not large, load your quilt on lengthwise. My B-Line frame extended to 12' so I could do large quilts that way. My Juki has a lazer light for pantos. I would get a 4" border panto and use it to do all over designs. Neither my Juki or HQ like Coats and Clark thread.

I have the grace frame with a Pfaff grandquilter - it came with a stitch regulator - its great - Also has the pantogragh with a laser light - haven't used that yet - only downside is the depth of the throat - when you get near the end of a quilt, there isn't too much room to quilt and you have to roll more often. The frame is easy operation by one person. You need a large space to set it up in the full length of the table. The Grace frame is not that easy to shorten and the short length is not long enough to do a twin width quilt. Lots of storage room under the table. I have rows of baskets with projects or fabric in them under and on the shelf. I can see where I will out grow this machine and get a bigger machine. Several other machines fit on the frame that I have so that will not be a problem.

What is the largest size in inches that can be quilted on the Grace Pinnacle Frame with the Jewel (BLJ18)? Would it be 104' or larger"

Re: Grace Frames
That was meant to been 104" not 104' on my question about the Pinnacle Frame.

I have a Little Gracie with a Brother 1500 and love it. I would really like to have a larger harp size, but don't have room for it. I consider myself to still be a beginner. I can free motion pretty well. I still need work on pantographs. I can do a queen size quilt. I prefer low loft batting, so I've never had to turn the quilt. I do not have a stitch regulator, but do have a speed control so I don't have to use the foot pedal.

Re: Grace Frames
looks like I have found a VikingMQ with a frame! I will keep everyone posted. I had not thought about having to turn a large quilt. Since I like low loft and light weight quilts (my friends and family are all in Calif) maybe I won't have to turn the quilts...I am excited!!!
