Quilt in a Day Forums

Help me Please. The other day on quilt in a day, Elenor used a tool to help her stablize the quilt she was sewing with her sewing machine. She said it was for helping if you had arthritis. I have looked on some sites for it, but dont seem to find this gizzmo. It looks like a half ring, like a little kids potty training seat. Please help me find where I can purchase one. Thank you.

Unfortunately, I don't get to see El's show. Could you be referring to the 'Quilt Halo"? I've seen it at a few quilt shows, never used it myself...

Thank you for letting me know about the Quilt Halo, it sounds wonderful, but that is not what i seen on Elenor's show, very close tho. Anyways, the one on Elenor's show was bigger, thicker and had handles on each side to grab on to. But I do think this Quilt halo will work for me to. Now I just have to find one. Thank you again.

teesee63, I saw the same show, I think. It was in the series of Starts Across America, I think? That's the first time that I've seen it used. It was like a horseshoe. I would suggest you call QIAD and ask them if they could tell you the name of it or where you could buy it.

Did you watch the show in the Media Theatre here on the site or one TV? I will try to review the show and see if I can hear what she called it.

Just reviewed the show on the Media Threater, It is Stars Across America, #1412, Carrie Hall Star. Eleanor just uses the term "tool" to refer to that horseshoe type tool to help move the quilt. So, you might call QIAD, or email QIAD-Linda and see if she could find out what it is by identifying where Eleanor is using it.

I know what it is that she's describing. I have one. It doesn't work for me. I also have the quilt halo. I much, much prefer to use my "machingers" (gloves impregnated with rubber) & move my fabric that way.

I think it might be called easy quilter or something similar. I will try to look later for the correct name. They come two to a package and one is larger than the other. If it what I am thinking about they are a cream color plastic and have inserts in the bottom for some sort of foamy stuff that makes it grab the fabric and not slip.
