Advice on where to send a quilt for quilting

Post by quiltwithmom » Thu Mar 20, 2008 1:20 pm

Does anyone live in Florida and know someone that will do quilting? I make small quilts, but would like to have at least one done so I can see how it looks. I know a couple of LQS near me so I can always ask there.
If you send them out...how does that work out? I thought about sending in the mail and then it has to be returned so didn't know how safe that would be.

Call your local quilt shop, and ask about a quilt guild in your area, some have listings of local longarmers.

Thanks,
fabricgirl...Did you find someone local or do you send it out? I looked on eBay and there are several that look good. I saw a couple that do small quilts and the prices do not seem bad. I thought it would be much more.

There are several gals on this forum that do LA quilting. I would ask them before I tried EBay! Just put out the request and see if they work within your time frame. They all do beautiful work.

I need a LA, too. I've gotten sooooooo far behind that I need some help. If anyone would like to quilt a couple for me, please PM me. Thankyou, Amie

I agree with Sue - I would trust someone on the forum MUCH, MUCH more than someone on Ebay!

Hi Jan,
I'm going to check at a LQS this week. I'll let you know. I also have had PM's from ladies on this fourm. I think that they do wonderful work. It is a plus because they are one of our sisters and I know would take good care of our quilts.
How far from rt 75 are you?
Kathy
