I am so excited. I was at the LQS yesterday and I was looking for Karen McTavish's book. The sales lady said she didn't have it but another lady that teaches classes there happened to walk by. She teaches McTavishing and she asked me what I wanted to know. I told her and she took my BFF and I back to the classroom area, sat us down at the table, and showed us how to do it. She even told me what kind of thread to use and what to do with my tension. I tried it on paper and she told me I did really good so I should just put my quilt on the frame and get after it. WOO HOO. I didn't have to buy the book (I still might) and I had a quick class without having to pay a dime. I was just beside myself with excitement - LOL. I'm going to keep practicing on paper while watching the olympics. Maria, thanks for reminding me of this technique and delving into it yourself. You made me want to do it and I couldn't get it out of my head.

LOL, cindyg, what a great day at your LQS! I can't wait to see the fantastic quilting you're going to come up with!

Drawing the "lines/curves" on paper while watching the Olympics sounds like a great idea!
