EASY AND QUILT WAY TO MACHINE QUILT SAMPLER

Post by lizellen » Sat May 09, 2009 1:10 pm

I want to know how to put together a sampler quilt, mainly quilt as you go, entirely by machine. I don't hand sew very well nor do I machine quilt, I want to know how to take the quilt sandwich, put sashing around it and then how to put borders without any hand sewing. Can anyone recommend a book, I went through all my books but they mainly put the whole thing together and then quilt.

Baysidequilting has a Fun n Done video that shows quilt as you go. They use a batting buddy but I think you could use this technique with any type of block. I have the batting buddy but haven't had time to give it a go yet:) Good Luck!! Here's a link-then go to the Fun n Done video.

I make each block be a mini quilt then sew the blocks together. Works great.
