Bailey's Home Quilter machine
I just got my DH to agree to let me have this if it is what I REALLY want, so I was wondering if anyone had heard anything about it. It seems to be a good price for close to what I want(can't afford the 18" one that I do want:)) but I don't want to spend that much money if it isn't a good machine. I just need it to do my own quilts, I'm not going to start a business with this one(DH promised me a Gammill if I do start a business, so I'm waiting for that)

Re: Bailey's Home Quilter machine
JW - I'm trying to remember if we test-drove a Bailey's at the quilt show. If it was there, we tried it - LOL. I'm going to look it up on line and see if it rings any bells.
Edit: Well, I don't remember. I'm sorry. Is there a place where you can go and test-drive one? Personally, I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. Get what you can afford and what you have room for. Whatever you get is a step UP from trying to quilt on your sewing machine. And you will get the feel of a long arm and, the best part, no more basting and/or pinning.

Here's a link to where I found it at:
http://www.baileyssewingcenter.com/test ... /test.html
I had never heard of it until I googled sewing machine(or something like it) I saved the link a couple of months ago in the hopes that I would be able to get it sometime in the next 5 years, turns out it'll be soon:)

WJ - WOO HOO - the excitement starts. I can't wait for you to load something on that frame and practice quilting. You're gonna think you've died and gone to heaven. One amall hint - none of my machines like Coats and Clark thread - I get a lot of breakage when I use it. That does not make for a pleasant experience. Have FUN!!!!!

Re: Bailey's Home Quilter machine
I ordered some thread from connecting threads to use, it's more expesive but I think it's worth it. Unfortunately, the frame is missing some nuts. We're going to go to the hardware store as soon as DH gets off to look for them, and the company is sending some, so I will eventually be able to put it together! The machine isn't here yet, not really expecting it before Monday anyway, and the frame isn't together yet anyway. And I managed to hurt my knee again. Dang. I'm sitting here bouncing up and down wanting to quilt and I can't:)
YAY!!! THE MACHINE IS HERE!!! But the hardware store didn't have any of the nuts we need. On the other hand, DH met someone there who was a machinist in the Marines and has all the equipment so he's going to make some for us and we should have them sometime tommorrow. Yippee! It's so pretty:) I'll post a pic on my blog later tonight. I have to finish putting together DS's new bouncer and then feed him.
