longarm quilting using a 10 foot table
I have lurked for a while waiting for the time when I could purchase a longarm. I have decided to buy a Gammill Classic but I am limited to a 10 foot table. Could someone on this forum who is familiar with this size tell me how large of a quilt it will accommodate.
Unfortunately I am limited to that size because of the room size. The bedroom just isn't long enough for the 12 foot.
Any knowledge about my limitations would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Susan

well 10 feet is 120 inches - you cant get end to end as you need some wiggle on either side but you can get a large quilt on there and there are ways to get bigger on I havent done it but have heard a few la quilters say that they have folded on one side quilted the reloaded and done again
any of yall tried that

I haven't tried that gardenquilter. I have a 12ft table for my Gammill but there were times I wish I had a 14 ft! LOL.......
Linda V Taylor did a quilt in sections of the last supper due to its enormous size. I forgot how big that quilt was but you might be able to find it on her website and she might have posted how to do it.

I have a 12 foot table. I have only had a couple of quilts that actually filled it with just a couple of inches to spare. Most of the quilts that I do would fit easily on your 10 foot table. Even a king sized quilt should fit on it. A king sized bedspread might be pushing it but a quilt should fit handily.

i have a gammil premeir, and 18/8. it was dismantled to bring from kauai to the UP. i need to send it off for full overhaul and possibly some additions. i left the table in hawaii, had termites and was originally damaged when sent to me. anyway, it was a 10' table and i was able to quilt pretty big quilts on it. it will reside in the basement when it returns and gets put back together. i dont know if i will have my s.o. make table or buy one of the metal ones from gammil they seem pretty nice. i gotta tell ya, i really miss my gammil.
