Sewing Table

Post by sgk1950 » Tue Sep 18, 2007 7:45 am

Hello,
I haven't been posting much, but I love to read your posts. I have a question.
I saw Eleanor Burns show on PBS where she had her son's in to show the farmtable that they sawed for her to have a great large sewing table and her machine was flush to it. I would love to have a "pattern" if possible.
Does anyone know how to get this. Does Eleanor Burns check this site or does she have an actual email address I could write to her?
Thank you and I appreciate your help!

QIAD--Linda, this one is for you. We have a few of the QIAD staff that drop in on us often. Usually Linda is the one that helps us out with these types of questions. I have seen the episode you are talking about, but have not seen a book or instructions anywhere. I have not looked very hard either. It is a great idea & if I had the space I would do this to a desk (a large desk). Good luck & keep us posted on your progress. :) S

I think the info you want is on the dvd "designing a sewing studio" which is available at QIAD. I'm pretty sure they show how it's done...whether or not they offer the pattern I'm not sure. I'm wanting to do that myself. I'd have to find someone to do it for me tho because I wouldn't know where to begin!

Posted this in another thread as well...the QIAD book "Machine Quilting Primer" has instructions on how to convert an existing table into one with a "well" for the sewing machine.

QIAD Linda. . . .I would like the directions also if they are different from the directions in "Machine Quilting Primer". I just received that book and DVD but have not had time to look at it. I am looking at new sewing machines but want to have a nice table for it.

Thanks, Linda
Have Fun,
