OT - Puerto Rico anyone??
OK, after this last weekend's ice storm (we still have ice in our driveway, and all the salt is sold out), has anyone been to PR? Any comments???
Really, for the last couple of weeks, we've been kicking around the idea of MOVING there! They have a VA hospital, so DH can still get healthcare....
Pros, Cons?
And - yes it would be a big enough house to have GUESTS!!!

I've been there and it's beautiful! I been primarily to San Juan which is fairly crowded. Lots of traffic. We didn't have time to visit the countryside but I hear it's great. You might want to check on the crime rate.

How about hurricanes? I live in hurricane country and the rain is a big issue. Wow

Sorry everyone - I posted in the wrong forum!!! Silly Me~ must be that snow and Ice... and we're probably going to get more this week!
Talked to someone down there and he said they haven't gotten any big hurricanes in about 4 years, and they aren't usually that bad. Houses are made from cement, so they withstand the winds better.
We're also looking a little inland, not right on the coast...

It's beautiful. In case of a hurricane, do what we do ---leave. Don't know about the crime rate but I would move there in a heartbeat.

Really? You would move so far away from family? Why this destination? lol It sounds like a beautiful place. WOW! I am envious of your bravery to think of moving so far away. I think of the kids and grands & I won't even look into moving out of state! And I really do not like Oklahoma. LOL Seriously, what made you think of moving there? I am interested not just being nosey. Wish I had yalls guts.

Cathy - my family is all in New England, so I'm far away from them now! If we were down there, I'd be the most popular kid - for once in my life!!! LOL
Quilt shops?? I haven't found any yet - at least none that were on the internet....
DH was checking into sending me down there for a week (he can't travel after the surgery last Oct, too much of a chance of blood clots!) Wow - how much fun would that be??
DH also printed off pictures of lizards in PR last night and left by my computer - I don't think they scare him at all!
