BLUE FLANNEL FQ SWAP

Post by Becky » Fri Sep 14, 2007 8:37 am

I am thinking I would like to host a blue flannel FQ swap if there are 19 others interested. With 20 participants, we can make a Turning Twenty.

The deadline to have them to me would be October 15th so I can get them back to you in a timely manner to make something for a holiday project.

The FQ's can all be the same or if you have a variety of blues in your stash, that is fine, too. Plaids, florals, holiday, whatever as long as it is a "blue". They will measure 18" x 22" and you will send 20. (You will get your own back, too.) Do not send "brushed". Stick to just flannels.

Place them in individual baggies with your name on them. Include a return package with proper postage with your FQ's. I will PM my addresss to each of you individually as you sign up.

I will take sign ups till there are 20 or September 25th, whichever is first.

This should be a lot of fun. Great time of year for some flannels to cozy up with!! And what is better than your OWN flannel quilt?? Some of you may want to treat yourself to one. That is what I did when I was in a brown flannel FQ swap. I just LOVE my quilt!!

I am down to 25 hours a week now. As many of you know, I get laid off in for the fall and winter so I am ready to get back into some quilting and swaps. Just haven't had time since April when I went back to work full time.

Great to be back (at least part time) on here right now.
Really have missed it.

OMG..I can feel it..can you?....the inevitable pull of a swap...it starts with the hands moving up into the arms then the brain....sucking you in...don't resist, just sign up. You know you want to...okay! Fine, add me to this also, I've got some flannel that I can part with and I've made my son a turning twenty with frayed edges out of "manly" flannel and he LOVES it! With winter coming up, I think my daughter would love one also.

Did you want us to wash the flannel first?

Also, are there any QIAD patterns that are fat quarter friendly?

It's been my experience with the FQ swaps that we don't usually wash the fabric. I agree with not washing it so we can make rag quilts. I just love to make those!
