No Quilt for me

Post by sunsup » Sat Jul 21, 2007 11:17 am

I had all the block swap blocks on my wall, ready to sew together. Then I saw the post about orphan blocks for disaster victums. I thought long and hard. I remembered when hurricane Andrew tore through our part of Florida. I thought of how I would have treasured a hand made quilt...anything from the rest of the country.

So I sent the blocks. I didn't put a name on them cuz they arn't really from me, but from all of us. I hope I havn't hurt any feelings by not keeping them.

That's a wonderful idea. I won the lotto at my last quilt club meeting and I plan on sending them to CindyB also.

I am new to this site and was not it this exchange of blocks, but I'm sure everyone involved would be very proud of you and proud to have their block sent for such a great cause. I'm sure that was very hard to let those blocks go, but just shows how big of a heart that you have.

Oh, you gals, are the greatest!!!! Sunsup, you are STILL entered for the contest - one entry for every block!

I love those blocks, and will so enjoy making them into a quilt!

I plan on putting this thread with the block, too, so that it will continue on as part of the history of the quilt!

sunsup, what a generous and unselfish act! I think it's wonderful you did that and if I can stop being a greedy-gut I may do the same!!!

Sunsup....what a truly unselfish act that was.

CindyB is doing such a good job of keeping this project going (and sewing all of the blocks together). Any orphan blocks or UFO tops that are just not going to get done would probably be appreciated also. And even a 36 x 36 quilt made out of a children's print would make some child that has lost his/her "blankie" soooooo happy!
Have Fun,

Ya'll are so great!!! I've been working a lot, but want to get some quilts done fairly soon - I've got two to do before I can start on one for us!
