UGRR #5
Block #6 will be the Sail Boat. Please turn to page 122 and look at the beautiful quilt made just from this one block. OK...now read pages 123-127. This block went together so nicely, I'm tempted to make a whole quilt of it myself. You will have one extra hst block, so why not put it in an envelope and send it off for a chance to win a stained glass window? Not much else to say on this one. Let us know if you have any questions....if not...see you next month!

Well that one looks easier than the wagon wheel and drukards path. I can probably whip that out in no time at all.

zfatcat-this really is a simple block. I would recommend it as a first hst block for anyone as you only need a few and you can get rid of the worst one! I didn't like Wagon Wheel-would have liked a Dresden Plate, but that's personal preference. I ironed, cut, sewed and squared Sailboat in about 15 minutes.

I think the sail boat has been the easiest block yet in this sampler. A fun one, too.

Wow that's fast Peaches. I like the BOM. You get to work on many projects and eventually finish them. Less stress. I like it.

I like the BOM format...somethimes it seems so slow, but you can work towards a goal. Some of the later blocks will be more challenging, but so far wer're doing OK!!! This block was too much fun. I wish I had grandbabies to sew for. Sigh...that's a whole new can of worms.
How are the rest of you comming along?

Please post some pictures. I would love to see them. I have the book now, just not the right type of fabric. But that sailboat sounds really cute.

Yo, Peaches!! It's almost August - what's next?? I am so excited about how well my blocks are turning out, but I really value your great 'lesson plans', and am anxious for the next block.
