First class is usually around $5 or so depending on how much you send. It will get to Mary's in 5 days from the west coast and you still get tracking. I buy the plain white bubble envelopes at WalMart. I think they're about 8 x 10. The priority mail is just getting to be too much.

There is also an envelope that is made for CD's if you can find one. They work well for Lotto blocks too.

The trick is to stay away from "priority" mail. It is no longer guaranteed and can still take 3 days or more.

I agree Valerie. I buy manilla envelopes at the dollar and a quarter store and tape up the seams. If I can make the blocks and get them in the mail at the beginning of month I send them the cheapest way possible. Our post office sometimes asks what is in the envelope. I've learned to say letters or copies of paperwok so it goes cheaper. If I say quilt blocks they consider it a package and charge more. What a racket.

I use manila envelopes also. I sent 9 blocks and it was $5.75. Normally I only send a few blocks and it's under $3.

No, I don't get a tracking number. My envelope has always arrived. I figure it's usually 4 blocks and if they happen to get lost they just are lost. So far I haven't had any issues.
