Blocks name 1947 Nine Patch from Victory quilt book
Background 4 4.5 inch block for corners
Either 4 2.5 by 4.5 inch rectangles for Flying geese or a 5.5 inch block

Light Medium 1 4.5 inch block for center

Medium 4 2.5 by 4.5 rectangles
Dark either 8 2.5 inch squares or a 7 inch square for flying geese.
Make 4 fling geese attach medium rectangles to point side of flying geese attach one of these to each side of middle sq.
Attach other two flying geese to corner squares
Put rows together YOUR done EASY.

Now that you see the pictures... you can see how really easy this block is... I wasn't sure about the tiny flying geese... but they worked out just fine!

Wow this is a real great block as a matter of fact I have 40 of them already made for another quilt i am working on...I use a ruler called the "Wing Clipper" for trimming down flying geese in sizes 1/2 x 1 to 5 x 10 it is a really good tool. Mine are 6" blocks so a 12 inch will be a piece of cake...

Finally felt good enough to sew a little. Cut pieces one day. Then today DH help me set up sewing machine.

Love this block. But not sewing on this trip so far despite buying a few fat quarters For this block just in case I get an opportunity to get my machine out. But I will catch up soon

Thanks Mary. I am feeling better each day. Hard to be patient and wait for body to heal. But we have to be careful. I feel so blessed to be alive!!
