Ok ladies I cant believe we are on week 9 already.
Fabric needed 1 fabric for center
4 different fabrics for dishes.
and your background
This weeks block is Broken dishes from Els kitchen book. A little harder but not difficult.
The center block is a 4.5 inch square. The next round is 2 4 inch squares cut diagonally. Sew these onto center square. next step cut 4 5 1/8 inch blocks from your four fabrics . cut each one diagonally sew on
half to the center square you will have extra triangle.
Next you will need to cut 4 2.5 by 4.5 rectangles from background. also cut 1 3inch square from four fabrics also 4 3 inch squares from background. make half square triangle blocks from background and 4 fabrics . you should end up with 8 half square blocks. next cut a 2.5 inch block from each left over diagonal piece.
Now to assemble Attach 1 rectangle to 2 half sq blocks
to match corners on center block. do 2 of these. these get attached to upper and lower sides of center block. Next attach other rectangles to half sq blocks matching colors of corners then attach 2.5 inch block to each matching color . last sew on to center You should have a 12.5 inch block.
This will become clearer once the pictures are in.
I will let Mary know .
Have a good time sewing this week.
