And here is mine. I decided to do something a little different... I'm not normally a huge fan of batiks, but when I went to the fabric warehouse and saw all these gorgeous bright colors... I couldn't resist!

YEA! I think I will go scrappy

And just to keep it all in the family, the red rose fabric is from through the seasons line I believe.

Is the block suppose to have 5 colors, or 6 colors? Katy and Maryq have 5. Valerie has 6.
Do we just do whatever size we want?
I will look for the directions.
I am still deciding. Boy, your contest sure went fast!

I don't have her pattern, but have made this block in Lotto, I think, not sure. Also, I have watched El's show on TV and it's also on Facebook under her videos.
I saved it to watch again. She cuts her strips to 2 1/2", so I will have to see if I have some lights and darks.
We are so busy this week trying to get settled in and cleaning our campsite. Have to buy mulch, plants for my pots, etc.
Going to give this a try, but don't know if I will keep up with the rest of you. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Valerie, my goodness you are fast!

Velda, I used the directions in Elโ€™s book. โ€œ Fabulous 40โ€™sโ€ and I bought he log cabin ruler, which made it so much easier for me to get my strips right. But you can sure make this with 2.5โ€ strips too, as long as your block will square up to 12.5โ€ to match the others we will be doing. Just do what ever works best for you :D :D

Canโ€™t wait to see what yโ€™all do

Oh My - I am with Velda. Please give the width size EACH STRIP should be plus the size of the CENTER. I do not like to cut and end up not getting 12.5" at the end.

If you go with El's 2.5" Strips and make her block you will end up with (I believe) 14.5" block.
Looks like I will need to dig out my books :) :) :)

Blocks are beautiful!!! Definitely LOVE the Colors and the Fabrics. Valerie's (Cut at 1.5"???) and Maryq's (Cut at 1.75"???) colors are brilliant while Katy's are a lovely Soft Springtime.
