Mixing prints and solids is just fine. I’m not fussy about 1/4” seam, just so that small blocks are squarable to 6.5”. Or if you decide to make a 12.5” block, it should be squarable to that. When I made mine, I cut my strips 2.5” x 7”, so I had a little wiggle room.

Just looking for a lot of fall colors, work with what you have on hand.

By the way, I love the baskets! That would be a fun lotto or swap for next year

I sure would like to get the time to do this this month. Busy month but will try.

MARY, glad to see October posted. I'm not sure I'll get any done, quick and easy as they are. We're leaving in a few hours and by the time we get home again, unpack and clean the trailer and do 2 weeks of laundry, October will be half over. I'll try to get some done while the washer is spinning, but it might be squeaky for me!

Thank you for the reply. I'm going to open sewing tonight so I will see what I can dig up in my stash. If not, I'm sure I can find a FQ or two. I don't have a lot in these colors.

When are these to be mailed in??

P.S. I'm obsessed with the basket quilt. I've seen much cuter ones in person. I've been collecting background fabrics. When I get a moment I will post a few of my sample/practice blocks. I was playing around a bit with the sizes since I had to make my own pattern.

My 6 1/2 x 7 inch blocks were sent off today! They are untrimmed. Just one side needs to be cut down.
That went fairly quickly. The one strip that looks washed out is actually a light yellow.
