November Lotto Block- -THE WINNERS ARE!
Hey Girls
The Winners of the November 2018 Lotto----"Leah's Star"
are: (insert drum roll)
Maryz
Valerie
Katy
Each of you will receive 12 blocks.
Depending on the weather, I'm going to the PO on Tuesday and will get the blocks in mail then.
Thank you all so much for participating this month... I know everybody has been busy with holiday sewing, so I'm especially touched by all the blocks I received in honor of Leah.
Here it is--- November Lotto!
In honor of our Dear Leah, we will be doing "Leah's Star" from Eleanor's free patterns (click the link above and scroll down)
It is an 8" block as shown, but below you will find the directions for cutting to make it a 12.5" Block
----------------------------------
Leah’s Star.
Upsized to be 12.5” unfinished.
For each block Cut:
Background
Two 4” squares
Eight 3.5” squares
From Color #1
Cut two pieces 3.5” by 6.5”
Cut 1 piece 4” square
From Color #2
Cut two pieces 3.5 by 6.5”
Cut 1 piece 4” square
Made 4 HST’s that will square to 3.5” from each color with background.
(2 of each color)
“Dog ear” each 3.5 x 6.5” rectangle in upper left corner with background 3.5” square.
Check the layout shown on Eleanor’s Free Pattern for placement of pieces.
Hints:
It’s easier to start with a 4” square to make the HST’s… then square to 3.5”
Put each quadrant together first, then square to 6.5”
--------------------
We will be using Christmas Fabric, because Leah so loved Christmas and being a part of Secret Santa.
White or WOW background--solid okay.
I was thinking scrappy but the scrappy one I made looked kind of Muddy... and I made a "solid one" but it looked boring. So let's stick to background and 2 other main colors
Tickets:
1 ticket for each block
1 ticket for each 2.5" strip for binding
3 tickets for each FQ sent.
As you make these, please think of Leah and remember her in your prayers, God is blessing her with His Loving peace.

What a sweet tribute to our beloved friend. I will need to see if I can access my Christmas fabrics.
