BLOCK: QIAD GRANDMOTHER's FAN 9" block
What fabrics would your Grandmother's use back in the day when she would have made a quilt?
Grandmother's Day is September 10th so I hope you will enjoy stitching up some beauties. Grandmother's Fan comes from the book "Quilts from El's Attic". The plate is different from the Egg Money Book and can not be used. The TEMPLATE is easy to make if you follow the diagram. If you need me to email you the pictures please send me a PM with your email address.
Glad I did not stitch mine down. I need to fix my BooBoo and that Red is to Dark. Looking for some SUMMERY, CHEERY, JOYFUL, PLAYFUL FABRICS.


The left side of the block is what the ending placements will be. The right side is what your petals and circle placements will be BEFORE you UNDERTURN 1/4 inch.
7 3/4" from the LOWER left CORNER of the WoW to the TOP EDGE of the UNDERTURN Petal.
1.25" from the UPPER CORNER of the WoW to the Top Edge of the UNDERTURNED Petal.
3.25" from lower corner to top left edge of the circle AFTER YOU UNDERTURN 1/4 inch.
Blanket Stitch the edge with a color that will blend in to your fabrics. Please check your tension to avoid puckering.
Please measure BEFORE sewing so you can tweek if necessary. THIS is a MUST so that all the blocks can be stitched together nicely when some are arranged in a circle on the quilt

I am in Alabama. My other Dad(my uncle whose home I was in more than or as much as my own) died last Friday. I drove in straight after school Thursday and visited with him Thursday night. It was really nice getting to see and talk to him before he went. THRILLED you LOVE IT Jacquie. I do to. Going to make a couple today but I need to do the binding on Valerie's quilt and get that in the mail to her ASAP. Baby has been born - WooHoo!!!!

This does sound like a lot of sewing!!! CONGRATULATIONS on her FIRST BABY!!! making an appliqué border for a pair of my eldest daughters curtains for the baby's nursery and a woodland theme at that!!!
Can't wait to see it!!!!

Just got home from San Diego. Will be home now until the winter holidays, yeah! So count me in. I'm the queen of scraps so I have lots of fabric for this and I just bought some more W on W while in SD. I am ready to go.
