It is still early and I see that many are shopping. I realize that I should have called it Patriotic Monkey Wrench. That would have widened the abundant choices of Fabrics out there waiting to be used.
So please allow me some grace and mercy to change this and allow you to choose from many Patriotic Fabrics that have Red, White and Blue Plus other colors. The white background fabric stays the same.

Hello Pals - SCHOOL's out for SUMMER!!! Ready for some more FUN!! We are going to make one of the all-time favorites, the Monkey Wrench Block. It is found in the Underground Railroad QIAD book. To my knowledge, and I could be wrong, it is also called the Churn Dash but with the center smaller. Everyone is WELCOME. So lets get started!!!
BLOCK: 12.5" Monkey Wrench
** Sashings - Cut strips at 3". Sew together and cut into 2.5" sections
** Triangles - cut squares 6". Draw a line down the center. Sew 1/4" on each side. Cut on line and square to 5.5" If you have a large 1/4" seam then it is better ot cut your squares at 6 1/8" or 6 1/4" and then square them up. Once you do this you will know what size to cut the rest.

FABRICS: Red, Blue Prints or TOT's; Dominant White Prints. No Solids or TOTs.
***** PLEASE TEST FABRICS to SEE IF IT RUNS.
* 1 block: Any Medium to Dark Red/White HST's with Blue/White centers
* 1 block: Any Medium to Dark Blue/White HST's with Red/White centers
Now is the time to use those Medium or Large R,W & B prints for the HST's. When you do please use a red or blue small print or a TOT in the center to give it a great contrast. The white will always be a dominantly white print
