My Sewing Room Swap

Blocks are DUE BY JUNE 18th

In this swap we will be making a wall hanging and therefore the blocks will be 6.5 blocks. Here is how this swap will work:

1.You may choose your style of assembly: applique’, paper pieced, or traditional piecing and embroidery for WORDS ONLY.

2.Choose one of the below sewing room items or PM me your idea for a block. See photos and links for inspiration. Each item can only be chosen by one person; first come first served. This way we don’t have all pincushions—Look around your sewing room for inspiration. Get Creative!

3.Background must be Dark Cream, Parchment, or Beige: Marble or SOLIDs only. I am ok with a top quality Muslin like Primitive Gatherings by Moda for your background—No thin see through type. I need to see your background prior to you making your blocks please

4.Make a test block and post it for all to see. Then make 20 blocks each 6 ½ inches unfinished DO NOT SQUARE UP YOUR BLOCK {JUST a FYI: I cut my blocks 7 inches due to applique and shrinkage}

To join you must be a posting member of this forum for at least three months and be familiar with the way WE run our swaps….

If you sign up and fail to follow through on this swap you won’t be able to sign up for the next swap any of us host that you ask to join. If after sitting out a swap you fail to follow through again you won’t be able to sign up for any swap that WE host. If you take a spot in this swap it is a commitment and must be met.

If you send incomplete blocks or your blocks are not the required size and of the required fabric and not sewn not securely they will be returned to you using your postage.

We will no longer be allowing block choosing from ones made by others. Hostess will have first choice of the blocks then sort the rest, what you get is what you get.

Would a square in a square work? I have some purple fabric with scissors on it. I could use 4 different creams, parchment etc on the corners.

Today I bought some great fabric in a parchment and a cream for just under 6.00 a yard; normally 8.00 a yard.

No Teresa that won't work please see the picture I posted in the thread and you may reread it too :) this swap is not traditional quilt blocks.

You can use any type of fabric to create your item but not just novelty fabric to represent an item.

Chriss yeah you found some solid cream at a great price too:)

I am really excited about this fun swap. This wall hanging will look so cute in my sewing room. I have just the spot for it. It shouldn't take very long to make these little blocks. How fun! Thanks for hosing this Izzy.

Izzy, I would like to join your swap. If Teresa is not taking the scissors, I will take it.

1st choice is "scissors", if taken, 2nd choice is "rotary cutter".

This is the background fabric I'll be using. Is the color ok? If not, I will have to buy some darker.
