Re: Bloom Sew-a-long
Jana--I saw them... so cute! I am going to pass on them and concentrate on these. The Christmas set and her fabrics are really sweet. I am looking forward to seeing your Bloom done with her fabrics.
I have a bunch of American Jane fabrics that would look good as Bloom blocks. I want to stash shop and try not to burn up my credit card. What I should do is cut it up... my credit card and my stash!

Re: Bloom Sew-a-long
Thank you, Tina! I am loving this sew along! I keep having ideas... a jelly roll quilt in light colors for a background. Then a row of perky flowers for a baby or girl's quilt... aaah... sew many quilts... sew little time... there are LOTS of variation on that going through my mind. I want to hurry and sketch it to use with my American Jane fabric stash...

Beautifully done Chickie!
Learned something the other day. It was one of those duh moments, why didn't I think of that! Well, I will share - when using the fusible interfacing method to turn applique pieces, cut the slit or the x, first before you sew all the way around the fabric. Now you won't accidentally cut your fabric. There are many days I wonder about me! LOL
Jana
Update - I tried the new method and to me it works great! Just as soon as I have them sewed and trimmed, they are turned and seemed that my fat fingers could easily turn them right side out. I used the template center markings as my guides for the cuts.

Re: Bloom Sew-a-long
Jana, what a great suggestion/tip/hint! To keep it from distorting, you could just make the snip, not the whole cut. I have to file that for future use. I'm just fusing my designs this time. Hope to do the new block tomorrow.
Thanks again, Tina, for posting for me!
