Debbie's mailed her package on the 28th and it arrived today! Thrilled it was not lost. Her blocks are Beautiful!!!

You will be combining a 4-Patch with Black and Bright (Not Neon) Squares! Over 272 Colors to choose from!! The single block on the left is what your block will look like when you sew it together. WATCH the PLACEMENT of the 4-Patch We don't want anyone wasting time Froggin' instead of Sewin':)

FOR ANY NEWBIES or just a REMINDER:
* This is NOT a SWAP. It is a place where you will find new or old block(s), enjoy stitching them and then mail to me by the last day of the month to Receive tickets and possibly WIN enough to make an AWESOME QUILT!!!!
* Sign-ups let me know who wants to have FUN unless life happenings get in the way get in the way. COMMUNICATION is the Key in getting everyone excited!!
* Black Kona (JoAnn's) or very good quality Black Cotton SOLID:
* Bright Colored SOLID Strips and Squares - Make them POP!!!
* TEST your fabrics for bleeding. KONA from JoAnn's does not bleed
* DO NOT UNDERCUT your Squares, please
* PLEASE MEASURE to Check that your BLOCK(s) are 8.5"+. DO NOT SQUARE
* PLEASE "Name Tag" each block on the front. Mailing labels or basting a printed label to the corner are great. Please put groups of blocks with the same colors together. This will help in organizing.
* Place ALL Blocks in ONE LARGE BAGGIE.
* PLEASE SEND $2-3 to help with Mailing the blocks to WINNERS

WAYS to RECEIVE your WINNING tickets ...
* 1 ticket = Signups by 6th of AUGUST
* 1 ticket = for each block
* 2 tickets = for each block after #8
* 2 tickets = if your blocks reach me by the 29th of AUGUST

Because this is such a FAST and EASY Block I have added ONE OPTION (Your Choice) to RECEIVE EXTRA TICKETS
* 3 tickets if you make (1) 12.5" block of your choice using the above colors. If you choose to make more blocks you will receive 1 ticket for each block. REMEMBER: This is a choice

For Example: You could choose the Day and Night Block using Black and 2 Colored Solids, a Churn Dash, a 9-patch Black/Colored with corner Triangles in multi-colors. Sewwwwww many choices and I am EXCITED TO CHOOSE!!!! Hope this helps

if i can get my sewing machine fixed wo spending too much money (which i dont have since ive been wo paycheck since mid february and have not heard anything from disability) im in...since i have lots of kona black and beautiful solids in my stash. it locked up on me today while i was sewing christmas swap blocks. taking it in tomorrow. marcia

Tina - Many have been wanting a black background block. I chose this easy one because many are still working on their Christmas Swap blocks and this is a way for them to make something simple and quick while not taking to much time away from those, if they choose to come join the FUN.

I have also added the 12.5" block "OPTION" as a BONUS to spice up the month because this month's block is sewwwwwwww very easy and quick to make.

SEW TO EVERYONE: THIS IS ONLY A CHOICE
If you have the time to make a 12.5" block of your choice before putting your colors/blacks fabrics away feel free to send me one for 3 extra tickets. Any blocks after the 1st one will receive 1 ticket. I will keep these blocks separate from the other blocks.

As always depending on how many I receive of these blocks will determine how many winners.
SO YES! There will be "2" drawings!! but you can only win one kind of block. SO as the month continues please let me know which one you would like: The 4-patches/Squares or the 12.5" blocks

So let me ask a question: We start with 2 1/2 inch squares. sew into a 4 patch. Then add 4 1/2 inch squares as in the picture on the left, to make our lotto block to submit. Our block should be 8 1/2 with the little 4 patch sitting in the lower left corner?

When assembling for finished quilt, we would make diagonal rows??

The link you gave us to see the finished quilt, did not make into blocks, as they were assembling the quilt a little differently. I like the black background and bright colors.

I will giving this some serious thought over the weekend. Looks like a really pretty quilt.
