Katy, great blocks. Your quilt is going to be gorgeous!

Y-seams....a challenge! LOL This will be my first attempt at the dreaded y-seams. Hope to get to work on the blocks tonight....if not, then Saturday for sure.

Thanks for hosting this sew-a-long, Katy.

Hugs,
Mel

Don't sweat the y seams, they aren't hard if you take certain steps. One, mark a dot on your fabrics in the corners 1/4 inch in from both edges. Two, stop on the dot and back stitch so it won't come out. Three, pin your spot with the dots matching, then start with your needle down on the dot and stitch. Hope this might help someone who hasn't done a y seam before.

Beautiful blocks, Katy!

I am a little behind, but I am forging ahead with week 7. I hope catch up the others as we go.

Thanks for the tips on Y seams, Joan!

Finished G6, then made H7, which somehow came out almost 1/2 inch too big! Don't know why that happened, but I really like the block. So I guess I still have two more blocks to make.

Joan..The EXACT same thing happened to me when I did it for the Farmer's wife sew-a- along..it came out a PERFECT half inch bigger..I decided to just keep it and deal with it...when I do it tomorrow for this one I will let you know if it is any different from using the pattern in this book. I believe it will end up like your's....Sonya.
