Tina what an awesome way to set your blocks. I too have an idea I just havent got as creative as you and drawn it out. If you have seen the front of keepsake quilts catalog with the leaves falling. I want to do something similar down one side and use my fall blocks stair stepping down the other. the lil squirrel will be over in the leaves. hee hee I just love that lil guy:))

I guess I need to really draw it out but I am so visual i usually lay them out on the floor to see it:)

i got my blocks together today and have first border on. tomorrow i hope to have second border on. i found an olive green border w gold tone wheat stalks for first border and fiery orange tone on tone w gold leaf outlines for the possible second border. both on sale at joanns and end of bolt so pretty inexpensive. not sure what ill use for backing...marcia

We were still in Texas when I received my blocks in the mail so it was a couple of months before I could even lay them out properly, let alone put them together. But finally, here they are! DH quilted it in pumpkins and vines. I backed it with dark green flannel and his pumpkins in gold thread showed up beautifully, but for some reason my photo of the backing didn't transfer off the camera.Image
