Since I won't be home in the morning, I thought I would post new blocks tonight. These 3 blocks aren't too bad.
Vicky, I've never had a root canal, but I hear they can be awful. I hope you are feeling better. Prayers have been sent your way.
Let's start working on A B and C blocks so we can start setting up
our quilts. Would you like that? I would like to see our blocks start looking like a real quilt!! I'm looking in my stash and I can't decide what I want use to set mine together. What do you plan to use? Solid? Small print? Something you have used in the blocks? I've thought about scrappy, but worried that would be too busy. I don't have solids in my stash and I don't want to buy anything for this quilts. I want it ALL from my stash....
Girls please share your thoughts... I have 3 different fabrics pulled
off the shelves, but I'm still thinking about it.
Have fun with the 3 new blocks Redtop

Sorry I didn't explain
A through N are the letters assigned for each block plus the number that follow each letter. The blocks are set up in rows---all the A blocks are row one-B blocks are row two and so on ending with the letter N. There are 10 blocks in each row and a total of 14 rows. We will have 140 completed blocks.
On page 126 in our book you will see the list of blocks and the page where they are located.
On page 79 in your book you will find the Quilt Assembly Diagram. This is the way that Jennifer Chiaverini suggests we set up our quilts, but it's only her suggestion to follow this guide. We can place our blocks in any order we want in our quilt.
I plan to set up my quilt according to the suggestion in our book. When I decide what I will be using between my blocks I'll post a picture. Since I'm NOT purchasing any new fabric, this is taking awhile. I can't decide what to use.

Good question tess. I too dont want to have to buy fabric. I have some sashing rolls I got from an old quilter. Fabric is a bit thin but I think I will use it up anyway: they are in peach, green, and a golden brown. Not sure which one I will use either if any. I am waiting to see what blocks look like laid out then decide. I do know i will have a sashing and a boarder just dont know what kind just yet LOL

Yes I plan sashing and a border too. I like the pieced border of page
80. That would use a lot of the never ending stash I have. I'm beginning to think I'll NEVER get it used...

Sew true

) I too plan to do that border. I have all my rows laid out on Celtic and guess what I am short one block LOL I have no idea how I even recounted them before laying them out. Sew unless the quilt thief has been by and swiped a block I am one short

) I have to pull out my scraps and make one. I had a couple extra blocks sew I only need the 4 patches and 2 rectrangles:)

I have some gold fabric with tiny flower design that I don't care for and I think it is enough to do sashing with. I am not going to start putting mine together until I get all the blocks finished as I don't think I will use ALL the blocks and I need to see how they lay out together. Mine are such weird colors that I need to really preview the layout. The leftovers will go to make maybe shams but we'll see. I probably will finish mine simple with a narrow border and a wider border since mine is so "busy" to begin with. Such fun though, isn't it. I am feeling better about the "Y" seams finally and have found I love paper piecing but I don't think I would like to do a whole quilt paper-pieced!

I have all sashing corner stones and borders. Since I am thinking about putting the quilt together like the book, I completed the last A block last night. My way LOL I embroidered flowers instead of the ones in book. The reason I laughed my friends say I cannot leave a
quilt pattern like it appears in a book.
Susie I still have trouble with Y seams, the male quilter in my club hooked me on paper piecing. I will have pale green sashing with EL's dark green basket fabric as the corner stones. The first border is a pink batik and the last border is fabric from Jennifer Chiverini a print in her greens and pinks.

Kathy that sounds soooo pretty. Your colors sounds great. When you get the first row together, would you post a picture?? When I get a few more blocks completed I want to start setting up my blocks. I will post a picture then.
I have trouble sticking to a pattern too.
Susie--I would NEVER try an entire quilt using paper piecing. I can't even deal with the thought.
Vicky is your mouth feeling better?
