Remember this block lotto? - update after Toys for Tots party

Post by gramajojo » Tue Oct 23, 2012 3:15 pm

I don't remember when it was from, the bag I had the blocks in only said "July block lotto". Guess I thought I would get it done sooner. Anyway, I put these together for the Toys for Tots raffle quilt. It is only 25 blocks so I put them 5 x 5 and figured if you didn't want it for yourself, maybe you know someone in a nursing home or a wheel chair that could use a small coverup.

I just got a new to me Janome 11000 and I played with the quilting in the hoop function. Pretty slick.

So here is the whole quilt:

and here is my attempt at closeups of the quilting:

So if you are in Northern Illinois, stop at Rambo's Bar and Grill in Somonauk, ask for Jacki and buy a chance.

Thanks for looking and hearing my plug!

Jo

Edited to add that I changed the batteries in my camera and forgot to change the date! They were taken today

WOW - Awesome quilt. Lovely quilting. is it computerized? I like the patterns.
Don't remember it so it must be before my time.
Blessings on the raffle.

Teresa, I wish I could say they were free hand, but definitely not in my lifetime! Yes they are computerized and even though I had to hoop 50 times, it was really a breeze.

Jo, it's simply beautiful!! And your "attempts" at quilting are amazing! You did a gorgeous job! And how generous of you to donate the proceeds to such a wonderful cause.

I know how it goes with the blocks in a ziplock bag that say "July lotto". LOL! I've got a few of those bags, too!
