************************************************************

Hi Pals - I love Lois's picture of the quilt she is making so I thought you all might like to try it.
As we are in September I think we should start up on the Fall colors.

******* USE UPPER LEFT BLOCK AS A SAMPLE TO MAKE YOUR BLOCK
******* Please Iron to the Dark Side when possible
For each block ...
* Make (4) 4.5" - HALF SQUARE TRIANGLES and
* Make (5) 4.5" - 4-PATCHES ***** Watch out for the DIRECTION of the Patch
* TOT's or small Print (like leaves) FALL COLORS
* TOT's - CREAMS/VERY LIGHT TANS
* NO NOVELTY Fabrics in this one as in pumpkins, etc ...
* makes a 12.5" Block (please double check measurements before mailing)
* DO NOT SQUARE UP BLOCK

Here is how you collect your tickets to WIN!!!!
1 ticket for each block you send
1 ticket if your block is 12.5"+ (this is a must, please)
1 ticket if your points meet - Don't you just love me :) :)
1 ticket if I Receive your blocks by the end of the month
1 ticket when you include $2+ to help with postage to winners
1 ticket for poetic bribes to the Hands of the Picker

It looks like we make up:

5 four patch sets - ( cut strips at 2 1/2 inches )
4 HST patches. ( cut 4 7/8 inches )

Please put me down for a few! (let you know later exactly how many).

Linda

If this link shows up this is also a different way to make many HST's that I love especially when I am making the bigger blocks. I started with the 7.5" square to see if I needed to use a 1/4" or a scant 1/4" seam. ENJOY!!!!

Thanks Linda for the measurements and the numbers of blocks in each block. I will post that up at the top. You are such a sweetheart!!!!

TERESA.......Thank you so much for the measurement chart. I like to make my HST like this also, but it is always such a hassle to figure out how large the beginning square is supposed to be.

THANK YOU!!

Here is my first one:

Linda - Glad I could be of help with the chart.
Your blocks have GREAT COLORS ... but I hate to be the bearer of bad news ... look at the direction of your 4-patch blocks.
** the dark colors go from upper left to lower right.
** the creams are from lower left to upper right.

See the UPPER LEFT BLOCK for the direction they are supposed to be going.

The 4-patch in the center does not have to be the same color as the HST's. I just used the Upper Left as a sample of the direction and placement of the blocks to make up the 12.5" block.

Hope I caught you in time.
AGAIN ... great colors :) :) :);

Oh I know you can do this one Mary and I also know you will have awesome points as well :) :)
I always need more practice on mine as well :) :)

EVERYONE ...
Watch the LAYOUT direction of the 4-Patch.
All the darks are going one way (upper left to lower right)
and the creams are going the other way (lower left to upper right. Makes an "X"

HAPPY STITCHIN'!!!!!!!!!!!

OOPS! .......... I see it now. The bottom left needs to be rotated and the top right also so they line up with the two light center blocks.

No problem, I've only made up the one and it can be changed easily. Maybe it will save others from doing the same thing. ;)

Thanks.....................................
