Welcome to APRIL's Block Lotto!!!! A few asked for an easier one and one asked for it to be one of El's blocks so I hope I picked you out an easy one.... so let the FUN BEGIN … We are all Star's in our Mother's Eye so this month we will be making ...
******* QIAD's "CROSSROAD" Block that has a Center Star in it *******
This will give us some great practicing of El's Technique for the Flying Geese and HST's. I am hooked on using Thangles for my HST's. Your choice.
First of all ... I have not made a TEST BLOCK ... so I am hoping that all goes well for you.

Right hand side - 5th block down - great directions!
* Look closely at how they color coded the pictures. This will tell you which fabric goes with which measurement for your Flying Geese. I have been known to get mine backwards.
* Each of your FG MUST have a solid 1/4" seam on the side that has the center point. Give yourself the extra 1-2 fibers
* Make a Test block to get the SCANT 1/4" seam allowance right.
***** On the left side of the same link you will see "Directions for Rulers" Choose the "Small Flying Geese" Ruler Link. The directions are upside down - meant for you to print them out
**** THESE FG ARE SQUARED UP TO 2 x 3.5" and 3.5" x 6.5" (watch out for the word "Finished". Try not to be confused. Gets me every time

* HAVE FUN!!!
* Make as many blocks as you would like tickets for.
* Keep an eye on your measurements after each step of the pattern.
* DON'T SQUARE UP YOUR BLOCKS - Just make sure they measure 12.5"+. The winner squares them up when she sews them together
* 1 ticket for early sign-ups
* 1 ticket for every block you send
* 1 extra ticket if each block measure 12.5" or more BEFORE you send them to me. This is A MUST.

With the 3 varieties of blocks last month I guess I was not as alert as I normally am when I sorted them for the winners.
I could use your help for future blocks to make sure you don't get all or most of yours back
* COULD YOU PLEASE PLACE YOUR NAME TAG ON EACH BLOCK IN THE UPPER CORNER (RIGHT OR LEFT SIDE) ON THE FRONT OF THE BLOCK
by either BASTING it with a couple of stitches OR HAS GOOD ADHESIVE AND WON'T COME OFF ...
If you can do this and send in one big baggie that would be incredibly helpful
