WELCOME to the FEBRUARY Lotto Block Month -
We are thinking ahead one month this year so I thought it would be fun to make the Double Irish Chain for St. Patrick's Day.
Hope I picked a block that you will find easy. It does involve double checking measurements after you sew the strips together but I think you will find it a FUN block to make.
I have the single book so I am not sure what other book it might be in BUT ...
you can watch Orion and Eleanor make the quilt by clicking this link.

This will have a scrappy effect when all the blocks are sewn together but I think it will look GREAT. Think of your "Irish Kelly Greens". You will need a GOOD CONTRAST of
* a light medium (No pastels) Green PRINT for the Center Chain strips
* (No Black in the print PLEASE

* a dark Kelly green TOT for the Outer Chain strips
* a "Cream" TOT for the Background strip
PLEASE ...
* Make Block A & B as many times as you would like.
* Use a SCANT 1/4" seam making sure your center strips are 2" when finished. Your Centers on both Block A & B PLEASE make sure = 6 1/2" wide before you sew on the outer strips.
* Make sure your block is 10 1/2" or larger - Fix before mailing

* DO NOT Square them up
* Send $2 for shipping to the winners
* HAVE FUN!!!!
1 ticket = early signup
1 ticker = per block but you must make an A and B Block
1 ticket = if you bribe the hand of the picker in some way

**** Just a suggestion ... If you are a new quilter or are very sure of your seam placement I would advise you NOT to stack each section on top of each other before you cut. You could end up with crooked strips making it very difficult to sew the sections together giving you a wavy block. It might take a bit longer but I find I am more accurate in my cutting when I make sure the 2" center seams are lined up with the lines on the ruler before I cut.
ENJOY!!!
