Hi Pals - I hope you are all enjoying the Christmas Festivities and will be Ringing in the New Year with Lots of Plans for all the projects you want to start or finish. It is my hope that these Plans include joining us this year for lots of fun, finding a New Block you really like and possibly WINNING ENOUGH to MAKE a WHOLE QUILT plus getting to know more about your Pals.
IT IS TIME to think about getting started on the New Years Lotto Blocks! I predict it will be another GREAT Year and I am looking forward to seeing some new faces along with all our Faithful ones.
I have been making it really easy over the last number of months because of the Holidays so I think it is time to step it up a bit.
We have been using Christmas and Winter Fabrics for a while now so I think it is time for a change by challenging you to make some…

Take a Hop over to Television and Video. (4 buttons to the Left of “Community”)
Click on Quilt in a Day Media Theater (Highlighted in Blue)
Click on “25th Anniversary Series” (Highlighted in Yellow)
Then Click on “Love the Log Cabin Quilt”. If you listen to the whole video she changes the name of the block from broken hearted to … and then see some of the Great color choices she uses. Pinks, Different shades of Reds and some Purples. Some TOT’s and some Prints. Use these as a reference guide to help you pick your colors. No bright as in neon colors though, please. (We will NOT be making the one that uses Black Fabric).

Basic rules continue:
* Use only 100% WASHED Cotton Good or Better quality fabric – Please nothing thin.
* Background would be a WOW.
* Colors - It is a Heart so ... what color does your HEART tell you to use:) Just needs to have contrast against the WOW.
* Send an even number of blocks (2, 4, 6, etc…)
* Watch your ¼” seams – most times it is better to use a SCANT ¼”.
* PLEASE make sure it MEASURES 12 ½” inches or more – SORRY BUT THIS IS A MUST! Please don't send me blocks measuring less than 12 1/2".
I know you can do this. Don't give up!!!
* DO NOT Square-up your blocks
* Please post them by the 25th of the Month so I can receive them by the 30th. I can work with this date if you send me a tracking# of your package.
* Please Send $2 with your blocks to cover postage to the winners.
* DO NOT WRITE your name on the blocks. Place an adhesive Name Label on the back / write your name on a piece of paper and attach it to the block by pin or thread / Put blocks in a baggie and write your name on the baggie. Either way will work.
* NEW THIS YEAR!!!! - Make sure to make ONE EXTRA BLOCK to keep for yourself each Month. By December you will have 12 BOM’s Sampler! Seeing as we are starting with a February Themed Block – sometime this year choose and make for yourself a January theme block to keep.
