A MESSAGE FROM VALERIE ...
Dear Girls;
I am having to step down from hosting this because of work demands which don't look like they are going to ease up anytime soon. Teresa has agreed to run the lotto for me until I am a little more stable. Starting this month, please send your lotto blocks to Teresa. PM her if you don't have the address. It has been fun seeing all the blocks and getting to play with them every month but the new owners are unrealistic about what can be done in a day and I am having too work a huge amount of hours. I will continue to participate as I can but right now since jobs are scarce here, must pay attention to the job and family. You have all been absolutely wonderful and I have enjoyed every minute. Love you all, Valerie

JULY BLOCK LOTTO INFORMATION ...
Hello Ladies -
WOW - The Jewel Box seems to have won. I know you will have a great time making these simple blocks and then WINNING them.
All blocks will still be sent to Valerie.

So this is what to do ... (Mel posted the link to the tutorial)
* make equal amounts of (2) 4-patch's and (2) HST's = 1 set
* Colors (see picture below for examples) will be Medium TOT or Prints opposite a TOT White.
* Each block should measure no less than 4.5" but will be squared up by winner(s).
* DO NOT SEW ANY of the BLOCKS TOGETHER. Placement will be done by the winner(s)
* Please do not use any thin fabrics and PLEASE wash your fabrics

* 1 ticket = 2 of EACH block placed in a baggie (name on the outside of the baggie is OK)
EXTRA INCENTIVES ...
* 1 ticket for signing up by July 4th.
* 2 tickets per baggie if you send 8 or more baggies.
* 3 extra tickets for EACH 2.5" x width of fabric strip sent for a piano key border. El uses the reserved 1/2 of the fabric she didn't use for the paino keys.

The below pictures give you an idea of the colors

In this picture you are better able to see the individual sections that make up the block.

i love both quilts, but am swayed more towards the; 'QIAD Jewel Box'.
it's 'sew' different! i love it, and think varied colours would be beautiful!!!
so that's my vote;
the QIAD Jewel Box, varied colours.
:c)

WOW - sounds like The Jewel Box is the winner. It is an easy pattern and the winners have the diversity to arrange it anyway they want.

Val - You are welcome. Anyway I can help is a pleasure.

Eleanor used 2.5" strips of the color and the TOT white for the 4-patch and
5.5" strips of the color and the TOT White to make the HST
Let me know if you need any directions using her technique and I will send them to you.

The picture gives you a general idea. I used Moda Marbles and Fusions on the one I made for DH's son and his wife for their wedding quilt.
I know you are going to have a great time making these blocks.
Any questions please let me know.

ENJOY!!
