Cotton Pals - - All Blocks are posted-

Post by kho » Mon Apr 04, 2011 3:11 pm

In honoring a request I will RE-start this sewalong in January. I will be posting the original blocks each month.

***Kittyquilt posted a link to www.quilterscache (see her post below) where you can find the blocks in alphabetical order. **

This is not a swap. Any blocks you make you keep for your own quilt. There will be 24 blocks plus 2 extras. You don't have to make them all, just the ones you like or the size you need for a quilt for you.

Let's get Cotton Pals started. The blocks are 12 inches and are listed below:

***Linda W. -Alternative blocks are LINDA'S STAR and WILD WAVES***

First Blocks are: STEPS TO THE ALTER and STARFLOWER chosen by Sandy (ME)

Second blocks are: CHECKERBOARD STAR and FIFTY-FOUR FORTY OR FIGHT
Cindy chose these. Please note the first one is a 9 inch block, so you can be creative and add a border to make it a 12 inch.

Third blocks are from Kittyquilt: COXEY'S CAMP and PRAIRIE QUEEN

Fourth Blocks are from Maryq: MARGARETS CHOICE and MAPLE LEAF

Fifth Blocks are from Pam:PRIZES and CROSSES AND LOSSES

Sixth Blocks are from Teresa K: TERESA'S PINWHEEL QUILT BLOCK and FOUR CORNERS

Seventh Blocks are from Melanie: MOTHERS DREAM and MYSTERY BLOCK

Eight Block are from Jacquie: JOSEPH'S DELIGHT and JULY FOURTH

Ninth Blocks are from Valerie: VARIABLE STAR and VERMONT

Tenth Blocks are from Ann: ANNIES CHOICE and ARKANSAS CROSSROADS

Eleventh Blocks are from Tina; TOWERS OF CAMELOT and TULIP LADY FINGERS

The last block is from April: AMISH STAR and AUTOGRAPH STAR

I have FQ's of the flowery ones from QIAD LOL I don't remember what they are called Perenials? Maybe add some solids? Maybe when I see the 1st blocks it will lock in what I'm using for sure :o) Looking forward to doing this one too! :o)

I think I will try this one. I like trying out different blocks to use in samplers. Of course, I signed up to do the one last year of the free blocks posted here on QIAD and only made one of them. So we'll see what happens.

I am going to use stash. I have a lot of Christmas fabric, and we will finish up around Chistmas, so maybe I will do a Chistmas quilt.

I really think that this will be fun! What a great idea!

I may want to try a combination I normally wouldn't do. Maybe saturated reds and yellow. I tend to pull in a lot of fabrics. Maybe limit the number of fabrics a little (to 4?). I dont know.

i'm going to try something different,at least for me--i'm going to the LQS and find a fabric that just jumps up and says "pick me" and use that as my main fabric. This fabric will be a part of each block. the other parts of the block i will pull from stash to coordinate; so each block will be different fabrics, except the one mail fabric. I'm also going to use the main fabric for the sashing, no cornerstones. when it's finished, i'll think about the border. i have 2 LQS to look at so I'll do that this month. I'm really stepping "out of the box" this time, but I think it will be something different. I'm glad we have until July 1, that gives time to finish up a couple things. this should be a great quilt. thanks, KHO, this should be fun. hugs, carol/kittyquilt

I'll sign up for this one, too. Maybe it'll be batiks or pink & whites? Not sure yet.
