Secret Santa Wrap Up

Post by maryq » Sat Dec 26, 2009 7:25 am

Good Afternoon from Snowy Minnesota

Hope you are all enjoying your "day after christmas" . I'm snowbound here as the roads are terrible after our snow storm. So far I think we have about 14" up by my house. Luckily, my neighbor plowed my driveway so if I have to I can get out. But I've got the necessities of life: coffee, peanut butter and toilet paper so I have no worries!

Just wanted to post a note and see if every body had fun with Secret Santa this year. Hopefully everybody received a gift okay--even tho some may have arrived a little later than planned. Should we start earlier next year? Like AUGUST LOL

I really enjoyed hosting it and even tho it was a little bit more challenging hosting at 2 differents places I think it went pretty well.

Please let me know privately if there are any issues

Merry Christmas Everyone and Wishes for a Very Happy Sewing New Year

HI - Opened all my wonderful gifts and love everything - I am sorry I was late sending my Secret Santa gift out but things happened unexpectedly and hopefully will be invited to do it again next year - but this time I will definitely start early!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for hosting and for always answering my questions during this swap - next time I will know what to do.
Again everything was PERFECT! And I hope that Purr-fectLady liked her gifts.
Have a Happy & Healthy New Years to EVERYONE! LorrainaePA

Maryq,
This was great fun and as I read the posts, everyone got great gifts! Quilters are so creative. As I was reading what people received, I was wowing, those are great ideas and great gifts. And it was so nice to learn about one more angel.
Thank you so much for hosting again this year. Maybe September would be a good month to start, after the summer vacationing time......LOL
Happy New Year to everyone, hugs, carol/kittyquilt

MaryMargaret, thank you for all you did for us. I know you were hosting TWO Secret Santa Exchanges at the same time and it appeared to me to be a lot like herding cats! You did such a nice job. I really admire you. And it was fun for all! So, much appreciation for caring about us so much. Mary Z

I recieved mine and all was awesome. I had alot of fun with Secret Santa this year (my first, also) especially making the bookmark that went with the book I sent. I am glad to hear - Lorraine - that you enjoyed everything.
As for starting earlier... I will leave the organizing to you. You truly did a wonderful job definitely better than I would. So MY HATS OFF TO YOU!!!

2 Places? I guess I missed the other one. Next year I will keep my eyes open.
Happy New Year everyone!!!
Teresa

Mary - a big 'ole hug from here for hosting!!! It was a BLAST!!

I start collecting little things I think a Secret Santa would like really early - like I got a Keepsake Quilting gift certificate, and a little will go towards next years SS stash!! It makes it so much easier - no running around (well, less) and on the pocketbook.... I wait to buy any fabric until I know who I have.... but I like to know as early as possible, as it seems quilt shops are getting further and further away! (Especially in NH - two nearest quilt shops closed this year!) I really need to check out where there are some.... might have to go over between Rutland and Burlington... hummmmm, maybe next summer!

I did enjoy last years - when I got to hand deliver gifts to Jan!!! That really surprised her, and it was nice to see the big, huge grin on her face, when she realized I was her SS!!!

I've enjoyed everything I've gotten - and this year's package was especially handy and contained a couple of things that I really, really needed and had forgotten at home!!!

Thank you so much for leading this fun swap once again Mary. Its fun to collect in advance when you know this is coming up. It is how I find things like a quilting Santa and stuff ahead of time. Cindy is right, its easier on the pocket book a little at a time.. A lot of the online quilt stores have specials all through the year so its easier sometimes to get "two" of something when ordering for yourself.
THanks again and thanks Cindy for being a terrific secret santa this year to me!!!
Beth
PS you should have come here to deliver mine hahaha

Oh Mary!!

Thank you so much for leading the SS. You did a wonderful job. And I must say 'you' were the best SS. I learned a lot from your package...took notes for myself for next year. Once I put all you gave me a way I couldn't remember them all to thank you. But they pop up often when I'm working in my room.

Can you fix it so I have you next year...LOL

Kathy
