I mailed a box yesterday with delivery confirmation. I sent an email to my friend with the confirmation number. Last night I wanted to see how far it got so I went back to the email to copy and paste that long number. Well, I noticed that it was hyper-linked. So, I clicked on it to see what would happen. It took me straight to the right place on the USPS website to check on it's status! Wow! Isn't technology great! I didn't do anything special when I typed the number in the email, it just knew that those numbers were for the post office.

did you know you can sign up and have the information e-mailed directly to you too? that is what i do now and it is great. When you track it the first time you will see that option. That was wonderful over the holidays when I had so many packages in the mail at the same time.

As we used to say in school, "Cool beans!"

it takes the tracking number and 'auto detects' the carrier and will email you (or update you on facebook or twitter) with details on the tracking as it moves along.

I have not used DC very often yet and didn't know this.

I have not heard yet if my SVP received her package, so I might check this out.
All I want to know is that it indeed was delivered.
