Will there be a Secret Pal next year?

Post by Michelle06H » Wed Dec 17, 2008 5:04 pm

I'd like to continue, if there is still interest. I'd also be willing to help out and if Cindy doesn't want to do it anymore or anyone else, I'd be willing to host. Just wondering what the word is on this. :)

Michelle, I think Cindy had posted a thread saying that astitchintime was taking over. I have not seen astitchintime post recently so I don't know what is goin on with that. I also thought we were supposed to renew our "membership" in this swap for the new year, but haven't seen anyone post about that either.

I think it would be great if someone would take up this project, I hate to see it die out. I do believe we need at least quarterly renewal if it is done.

I am also interested in keeping the secret pal swap going. I really liked when the names were listed with the sent/received comment added by their names.

I just looked up the post. CindyB posted on 12/7/08, title, 2009 /secret Pal changes & News. In that she says Debi/astitchintime has stepped up. However, like others have said, no post since from Debi.

My suggestion, and only MY suggestion: since we haven't heard from her, and if we want to have a January group, then if someone else is willing to host the group, my all means post and get it started.

And as the one in November was such a success, 100%! following that model seems like a good one.

Another thought will I'm typing: Perhaps every other month would be good, that way it keeps the project going, but cuts on expenses a bit and gives people a chance to sign up for each one. Just a thought, I'm in for whatever, as long as we don't sign up for the entire year. Too many things happen in a full year. Plus, if signups are more often, more people could participate, and it would be fresh in everyone's mind.

I agree with Carol about setting something up for January. If we do it every other month that would be great and maybe we could have a different hostess and new signups so it doesn't become a burden on one particular person.

I wouldn't mind being the January hostess unless someone else wants to take that on.

what is the thought about setting a limit to the number of signups. If we do it on a month or every two month basis it would give more people a chance to sign up and still keep it under control some.
