Need info---- gift

Trying to decide....If you were giving a gift to a quilter, what would be better..... gift certificate (QIAD) or quilting items?

It depends on where the gift certificate is to, I would think. I was given one a couple yaers ago,(not quilting related) and I am 150 miles from where I could use it.
