It was just too darn cold last night to go to the Post Office when I got done sorting blocks!

They went in the mail, and you should start receiving them before the weekend... there was quite a line at the counter by the time I got done!

Thanks everyone for participating, and I can't wait to see what gets made with these.

Per her request, I kept Evies for the disaster quilts. Thanks, Evie!

Gals, you are not going to believe how beautiful the blocks are together!

I tried to explain on my note... btw, there is a mis-spelling on it... my Dad didn't take the picture from his DESK -- it was from their DECK! LOL!

Awww, the doctor's??? Not fun, here it is Wednesday a.m., and my heel still hurts from all the poking....

Basically, I have plantar faceitis (sp?), but it's a more serious thing, because I've had heel pain for about 2 years... it usually goes away before this. I've had heel inserts, but that hasn't really helped... I'm going to be going to PT, and have to go back to the dr. in 3 weeks. Dr. wasn't very optimistic that the PT will help... next step would be a shot in my heel (OUCH!!!!) and after that, last resort is surgery. Surgery may be the only thing that will help... but I'm not doing that until after Paducah!!!

Cindy, I feel your pain.

I was diagnosed with the same thing about 7 years ago and was fitted with orthotics to put into my shoes. I was in such bad shape that I could only walk for a short while and then it felt as if I had needles poking the bottoms of my feet and could hardly walk. The inserts were so uncomfortable and felt hard as a board, but I must admit they did help. I was given excercises to do in the pm before bed and am before even getting out of bed. I was also prescribed 800 mg of motrin 3 times a day, which I did not take because I felt this was way too much for me. I would take one tablet in the morning and that would usually work all day. I was miserable for months until I started wearing Birkenstock shoes and no inserts. I had heard that they were good for people with foot problems so I was at my wits end and decided to try them. They do take a little while to get used to and are a bit pricy but I don't wear anything else anymore. They are somewhat plain looking so if you like dressy shoes it may not be the thing, or you may have to spend big bucks. They do sell inserts to put into regular shoes and I have bought a pair to fit into my dressy shoes (1 1/2 inch heel) and they are not bad at all.

Podiatrist told me that this is something you basically learn to live with because there is very little they can do about it, as you have already learned. He did advise me not to ever go barefoot because that would only make the pain worse. I used to wear only socks at home but now I put on my sandals as soon as I get out of bed and rarely am without shoes.

Sorry to go on so much. I hope that PT helps, I guess it just depends how much damage has already been done to the tendons. I will keep you in my prayers as I know first hand how debilitating and frustrating this condition can be.
