I just went down and picked up the mail and guess what was there....it was the charms that were mailed yesterday morning from my husband's office. There was a note on it that said it could only be mailed with stamps if it was taken to the post office since it weighs over 13 ounces. My husband actually handed the package to the postman that comes in his office as he has a couple of others that were processed with no problem. I used a flat rate envelope as I have on a couple of others with no probs.
We had three weddings in three years so I had several partial rolls of stamps and have been trying to use all of them on my swap packages. I just don't mail many packages and didn't know this. Did you all know?
My question is that I need to know if you plan to take the return charms to the post office as the envelope that I am sending for return has a bunch of stamps on it too and I don't want it to be a problem for you???
Just let me know before I take this to the post office to give it another try.
Thanks,
Cyber-Sue

I will be taking them all to the post office. I have never tried to mail a pkg. from home, I don't know what they weigh. I always take them to the post office. They really come up with some off the wall regulatiions AFTER you have tried to mail something! I usually try to take them to a little town close to here that has a post office that is very small. They want all the business they can get because they have been wanting to close that one down. They love it when I come in! Plus the fact that the post master and my hubby went to school together. So you're okay Cyber-Sue!

Well, I will re-mail the package this afternoon or in the morning. It should be to you by Monday...sorry for the delay.

I meant to add that it just seems weird to me to have flat rate option if you have to go to the P.O. because I thought that would be the convenience of "flat rate" envelope/boxes as you would know how much postage to use without weighing it. I guess they just drew my number to annoy yesterday. LOL I am so glad that I won't have to tear open the envelope and redo the return envelope. I will just remail in person if they will let me. Thanks, Sue

Mine went back to the PO this morning and were mailed again. They told my husband that they should not have been sent back since he handed the package to the mailman personally. The note that was on it said if it weighs over 13 ounces then it has to be given to the postal system personally. It weighed 13.8 ounces and it was given to the mailman...anyway the PO said they were sorry and would get it on it's way and it should not have been returned. Who knows? FYI
