A good square ruler to have is the 12 1/2 by 12 1/2. You can size up or down with that one. I bought one for my girlfriend at Walmart and it had yellow printing on one side and black on the other. That way you can see the markings no matter what color your fabric. Pretty clever.

That's a neat idea about the different color lines on the ruler. I'll check out the ruler section next time I go to the store (and the fabric section, and the notions.....).

Question:
For this swap, are we doing "quilt shop" fabric or any 100% cotton "nice feeling" fabric? I had a quilting friend where I used to live who was adamant about only using quilt shop fabric so I want to ask to make sure if there are any rules about this for this exchange. Thanks!

JUST A THOUGHT.... I LIKE MY 12 1/2" SQ UP RULER, BUT I LOVE MY
6 1/2" SQ UP RULER. I USE IT ALOT MORE WHEN MAKING BLOCKS. THE
12 1/2" I USE TO SQ UP BLOCKS TO ASSEMBLE IN THE QUILT. I WAITED A LONG TIME TO GET A 6 1/2", AND NOW I WISH I HAD IT A LONG TIME AGO.

I knew it! You all were having fun w/o me! Not fair. So I'm joining you if it isn't too late.

Also, I see alot of names that are quite familiar to me, except on the Autograph #2 quilt swap. So if I can plug here, I think we still need more. This is fun!

towens71, I just wanted to clairify: Are you joining this swap, too?

I thnk it would be okay to use fabric in this swap that isn't from a quilt shop as long as it's 100% cotton and looks like it's good quality. I'm planning to use some of the fabric cut from the bullseye blocks for my charms and not all of that is from a quilt shop, some of it is from Joanne's. As long as everyone is okay with that, I think we'll be fine.

We have 27 signed up now!

Ok, I put in a request to have Aug 4-19th off from work. I'm all but positive it will be approved. My supervisor was making the schedule for the first week I requested today and he said he would let me have it off. Anyway, I'll be closing sign up on the 27th. I'd appricate it if no one sent me any charms until Aug 20th, so that nobodies package gets left out on the deck while I'm gone. I'd hate to think of all those poor defenseless little charms sitting out in the weather with no one to protect them. I'm hoping everyone can have their charms to me by August 31, and I'll try to get them all mailed back by Sept. 14th.
Please let me know if this works for everyone. If not, I am more then willing to make changes as necessary.
