I would prefer to get a variety of different blocks for a sampler type look. You may also want to look at color as the blocks we get will eventually end up sewn together. I would not stress a whole bunch though as then it won't be fun.

Here's my thought for sorting the blocks

Make a pile of all each of the different patterns
a file of Wild Waves, a pile of Amish Star, a pile of Eddystone etc etc

Then I thinkin' I'll have a card with each person's name and then grab a pile the pile of WW and distribute one to each "card" Checking the tags of course to make sure that you don't get your own WW back. Then go to the next pile of blocks. I think that will also be the best way to make sure that each of you gets a block from everybody and not just 1 person's block. I'm definately going to need some help sorting them out, so I might call my friend down the street--she's a quilter too so she will just ooooooooohhhhhhhh and aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh all those squares! Wish I could take a video of me doing that!

Gotta check my list and see who I need blocks from yet. A couple gals had to drop out, (know how that goes) When I check my list I'll get back to you!

Thanks for the update maryq. I was beginning to wonder when we would be getting the blocks back. I was hoping to finish the top before school starts.

Making a list and checking it twice!

Sunsup
GeorgiaPeach
Ibquilting
Patsayann06
LorettaV
Lacw

Ambrickl
Wesignificant
Quilterliz
Adgetrick

Have not heard from:

I know a few gals had to leave the swap, and I thought I made a note of those, but just double checking! Want to make sure I have all in before I start sorting to send back!

Yup, Cindyb's are on the way. and so are some from Debs760 (she's new and jumped right in with both feet to join us!)

Will post any update when they arrive.

I get to be home all day tomorrow, so will be standing at the mailbox anxiously waiting. Cindyb is also sending me the recycled stash,Oh what fun I can have this weekend!

This is so exciting. I want to make lap quilts with my blocks to add to my decorations in my family room for Christmas.

When I took a picture of all my blocks together it really didn't seem to make any difference that they were different basic colors. They all seemed to fit together because they were all in the same theme. I will be happy with whatever I get.

UPDATE

I so love coming home from work to find a package in my mail box!

Deb's blocks arrived today and oh my... so so pretty! and so PERFECT. I looked at mine today,, maybe I'll just keep mine so you all don't have to see how bad they are... and I'm not kidding. If I had time I think I'd start all over!

What's really amazed me, beside the talent out there, is that there is very little dupication of fabric! Who knew there was so many different Christmas Fabrics out there.

I'll keep watching for more to show!

maryq, I'd be honored to have your blocks for my quilt! I know how you feel, though, when I started seeing pics of others blocks I wanted to re-do mine! Especially my quilters choice block! I was scrambling to get it done and mailed out. Well, let's all remember the posting that IowaGal put on here about what these swaps are truly about....the comraderie and friendship. I'll bet all the blocks look wonderful, even mine! LOL!
